Basic Spots 1
just a little element kit. playing around with vintage dictionary pages, gesso, and my rotring pen. love how they turned out.
Today I went shopping at DickBlick. I am so super excited because I had printed off 2 store coupons for 40% off. I went wild and got two, TWO, copic sketch marker sets. That’s 144 gorgeous alcohol based markers. I discovered them when I took Anahata’s class at JournalFest. Dang, they write over everything. Incredible! So there goes my entire art budget for the next 6 months. But they are so cool. So check back in a couple of days and look for BASIC SPOTS 2. and borders. and maybe some frames. and a doodled flower or two…

I just spent a kaboodle in the shop – must have missed these by minutes. I positively love newsprint stuff!
I am trying not to turn green with envy about that Big Glorious Entire set of Copic pens!!!! I will be bugging you to find out if they indeed write over metallic paints and chalked pages (without mucking up your pens, of course).
Maybe you’ll do a review for us after you’ve played/abused them a bit. I would probably have to set them on a shelf to gaze at for awhile, like a piece of art before I could actually USE one.

Hey Miss Sherrie! Wanted to let you know, just in case your digital travels haven’t taken you in this direction yet, that I just ran into an UBER-COOL photoshop freebie that you will really dig if you’re into the copic markers. And maybe you could pass it along to those ppl who commented that they couldn’t afford the markers? At least this way they can play w exact copic colors in photoshop.
It was at deviantart (sooo full of photoshop goodness and dig art) in the resources section. Wish I could give you the filename, but its on an external drive that I lent to a friend. So, this freebie is a HUGE set of Photoshop Colour Palettes that you load right in and gives you the exact color of each and every Copic pen on the market. Figured if you’re drawing and scanning, might be nice to have the full color wheel of copic colors right in PS to work with. If you just go to do a search for Copic in resources section on dropdown menu, I’m sure you’ll find em. Hope that makes ya’ smile. If you have any trouble finding them, yowl back at me via email and I’ll hunt it up when I get my drive back in few days. I’ve got boatloads of free resources under my ‘favorites’ there if you’re in the mood for resource collecting..i’m orachel there too.
And thanks! Just signed up for newsletter and had no idea I’d get the zine for free! I adore your products…I kaboodle them like crazy and promise I’ll pick some up just as soon as I have some extra pennies! lol
